Hello:
Can someone explain how to prevent the formula from reading double digits numbers as single digits? eg 1 and 10 are both read as 1 in a nested search. thanks !

I'm not sure I follow you. For me 10 is read as 10... Could you upload a workbook example?
If you post more (or all) of your formula...and some sample data, we can probably help.
(Posting a sample workbook would be best)
Sorry: I have both 10 and 1 in the search string I want 1 to return a name and 10 to return a different name. The formula reads them the same (both 1). All 2 digit #'s also read as 1 and giving return for 1.
Post some sample data along with your formula so we can figure out what you're trying to do. Your explanation does not provide enough information.

A workbook is necessary in order to help you.
Here are some instructions to upload a workbook.
Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.
Remember to desensitize the data.
Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.
