Suggestions on pasting large number of formulas to values (keeps crashing)

Hi,

I have a spreadsheet that has around 70,000 rows of data and runs up to column BN, with all the cells containing formula. Obviously this can make the worksheet a large file size and also a little tricky to use as I often need to recalculate a small number of formulas (but not all). Currently I have recalculation set to manual and then manually click the cells with the formula I need to update, but this is quite time consuming and what I would like to do is to paste all my formulas to values

For most of the cells that have simple formulas this is easy to do by the standard method of copying and using paste special (values and number formats), but with the cells that have detailed countifs formulas it always freezes and crashes my excel when trying to paste these to values. I've tried doing smaller amounts (e.g. 5,000 rows at a time) but even this seems to crash excel.

Does anyone have any ideas or solutions that would enable me to paste all cells with formulas to values without freezing / crashing excel?

Have you tried perhaps saving the spreadsheet in a different format (.pdf maybe) and copying from there?

Aha... I didn't do that but it gave me another idea... just saved as a csv file and then when I open that file it's just the values. Great! I knew this forum would help me out yet again. Thanks.
