trying to sort groups

I have a spreadsheet that has groups of data.
I.e several rows of data all grouped under different labels.

I did not write the spreadsheet and the data is collected from other sources and each group only has the label in the first row.
When the data is updated the groups are not sorted and i would like to.

Is there a way to do it without manually entering the label for each row(there is several hundred groups).

I'm not quite sure I understand the issue 100%, but it may be a case that you need to select the entire table, then go to the data tab and slect "Sort" and then select how you want to sort them. So if all your labels are in the first row you can tell it to sort by the first column.

and i want to sort by 1,2,3,6, etc but keep the groups as it is if i sort by the first column then only the first row is sorted and subsequent rows in the group end up at the bottom

Is the data in column B (assuming the 1,3,2 and 6 are in column A), or are they all in the same column with "1 data" being a single cell value?
