Line Graphs for Unbalanced Data

Hi all,

I'm interested in comparing four groups, each of which have a varying number of scores, as not every group had the same number of people. I'm mainly interested in plotting this onto a line graph, with four separate lines representing each group. So the data look something like this:

Group 1
44 82 65 66 77 85 99

Group 2
22 55 44 33

Group 3
99 88 55 44 77 55 66 33 11 22 55 44 88

Group 4
22 55 44 33 66

Each scores represents an individual that fell within groups 1-2. I'm wondering if there is a way to organize these data onto a line graph that wouldn't look skewed. If not possible, any alternative solutions are more than welcome.

If I understand what you are looking for, I think a lot of chart creation is arranging the data in the spreadsheet. In this case, I would expect to arrange the data like this:

Then, insert a line chart. If Excel gets the data wrong, try a "switch row/column" command. If all else fails, go into the "select data" dialog and fix each data series.

Then see if that is the chart you want.
