Help: In the same cell, how to break line automatically with limited characters.

    Dear all

Currently, i meet an excel problem.

I have a lot of cell with text length different.
    For 1 cell:
I want to break line in the same cell with limited 30 characters automatically.
No matter how large the length of the cell, each line can only have 30 characters.
For those extra characters, they will be move to the next line (in the same cell).
And i do not want to use Macro.

Anyone can help on this please?

    Thanks a lot

    yyr007 welcome to the forum.

You will likely get faster and more responses if you upload an Excel workbook with desensitized data that illustrates the question. Provide enough examples (before / after) that are representative of your live data. Be sure to clean out all sensitive data before upload, and please do not post pictures or screen shots. Many of our browsers can't read them.

    Hello,

    >> And i do not want to use Macro.

That will not work, then. Excel does not have the functionality you describe built in. The only thing you might want to try is to use a monospace (fixed width) font, but even then this will only work if the text does not have spaces. Excel will not break a word across a line. Instead, it will put the whole word on a new line.

In this screenshot you can see that columns B and C have the same width. Column B has spaces and the lines will break at a space. Column C does not have spaces and the lines will break after 7 characters of this monospace font.

    cheers, teylyn

Thank you Sixthsense, in fait, the excel worksheet has marco to do the transfer. But as i made a lot of vlookup, the marco doesn't work. It keeps calculating endless. lol

    Thank you Teylyn.
You are right, i used the Fix width first, and use the automatically adjustment, and then i frozen the column.
It works on worksheet, but not sure when i upload in the label printing system.
    I will try. lol
