    Scatterplot no points

I am trying to put two scatterplots on one graph. However my boss does not want to see the points. He wants to see the trendlines for each of the scatterplot and a 45 degrees line.
So the graph should have 3 lines, the first of which is the trendline for the first graph, the second of which is the trendline for the second graph, and 45 degrees line.

    Thank you

In order to have a trendline you need a data series. You can however format the series to have no line or data markers.

The 45 degree angled line can be created by having a series with a pair of xy values which define start and finish

    Re: Scatterplot no points

How are you calculating the trendline?

The approach I would normally use for something like this:
    1) Perform regression in the spreadsheet (I have gotten away from using the chart's trendline feature). LINEST() for "linear" functions, Solver for "non-linear" regressions. ("linear" and "non-linear" in quotes because these terms have more to do with linear algebra than they do with whether the desired function is a straight line or not).
    2) Compute desired points for plotting the trendline and the 45° line in suitable rows/columns.
    3) Create scatter plot from the computed trendlines.

    Re: Scatterplot no points

I created the first scatterplot and then added another level and plotted the second scatterplot on the same graph. I also created different x and y values for my 45 degree lines in two columns in excel such that x=y. I then added a third level and did the scatterplot on the same graph for my 45 degree line.
After that I created the three trend lines by "Adding trendline" for each of the three plots. Then, I clicked the points on the graph and under marker fill and border unclicked no fill.
    It worked

Thanks for your help Mrshortly! Next time, I'll try your approach. I had to do it quickly for my boss this time.
