    Issue with data validation

I have a data validation field that refers to a range. When I make a selection in the list, the font is changing to a different color. It happens in four out of six fields that have data validation, and they all are set up the same way in VBA code. There is no conditional formatting applied to any of them. If it was a drop-down control, I would think the color change is coded in the change event, but it's a simple data validation field. Did anyone have the same issue?

    Not experienced it myself.
    Could we see the workbook?

    No, it's a confidential workbook.

    OK. I can't help then.
Difficult to diagnose without the workbook....

Maybe someone else has a crystal ball and can help.
OR you could desensitize the data and then attach the workbook... Just a thought.

    Re: Issue with data validation

    Not something I've experienced either.

If you want help, make a copy of the workbook, desensitize the data ... and we only need enough data to see the problem, make sure the issue still presents itself, and upload the copy.

In deference to BSB, failing that, we can perhaps ALL put the ubiquitous Crystal Ball on our Christmas Lists.

At a minimum, can you post the Data Validation Rules as they are and the Applies To field for each rule?

    Re: Issue with data validation

Hi I have a problem with my LOGSHEET (please see attachment). User is able to delete the contents of the cell J12 or the selection from the drop down.
I want user to choose only from the drop down and not to delete the contents of the cell.

What I did is locked the cell and protect. User cannot delete the contents but cant choose from the drop down contents also.

I don't know what to do anymore. please help.

    Thanks.
