I have pivot tables that are created via access query in 2007/2013 and I choose to leave data in the excel file.. This allows my users to manipulate the pivot table without having the MS access or the source data.

I have an issue when a user that has a Mac running 2016 tries to manipulate the pivot table. . They get "This PivotTable connects to an external data source that's not supported in this version of Excel" I don't want to create a worksheet with all of the data and switch the PivotTable source since this caused the excel file to grow in size significantly.

Are there any workarounds where my Mac users can change filters on a PivotTable that was created in Excel 2007/2013 via an MS Access query?

Thanks in advance..
