Bay facet & angle calculator

Hi guys.

Im a surveyor for the double glazing industry and I want to create a useful excel calculator sheet for checking the correct sizes of facets & angles on different size bays.
I currently use some software on a laptop but I would like to use my iPhone or iPad for convenience on site rather than carrying several bags on site.

Since most of us are not surveyors in the glazing business, it would be really helpful to us and you if you laid out your criteria for what you want excel to do in as much detail as possible.

If you want someone to create something for you you might get help under the commercial services section of this forum, of course there you are paying for the help. This site primarily gives people the ability to fix formulas or solve excel problems they are having by using formulas. If you have an example workbook you want to post with more specific questions I'm sure someone can help you here.

Just a thought - have you checked with Clear Thinking Software to see if their Bay 6 Programme will work on a tablet (iPad), or they have an "App" ?

Yes I have checked but they aren't making an app of going web based as yet.
Which is a real shame for me.

It my be a fairly small program, mainly math as it loaded originally from a floppy disk.

An app may be "mainly math" but I find I must first understand the math before I can effectively program that math into Excel (or any other programming language). Can you explain the math/geometry/trigonometry to us? If you can explain the math to us, we should be able to help you program that calculation into Excel. If you don't already know the needed relationships, then we will need to spend some time with the geometry until we understand them.
