    Getting Rid of Add On

    1st one

How do I get rid of a Add On that is no longer required....It starts up every time I open excel..and I no longer use it

    2nd one

How can I make excel run faster.......I have a racing file with 180,000 lines in from that 20,000 were non runners....so I selected them and pressed delete.....after 35 mins it still had not deleted them....it seems to run so very slow......Am I able to send more memory to it or something...just starting to get annoying that I have to wait ages for it to do every calculation

Thanx in advance to anyone who replies

Go to File, Options, Add-ins, Excel Add-ins, Go. Deselect the add-in. It should no longer be looked for by Excel. Find the addin file on the hard drive and delete it.

Re: Getting Rid of Add On

If you didn't find the add-in in the list of add-ins, the add-in may still be addressed by excel and this may prove to be a problem getting rid of. You will then have to go into the VBA editor and search around for the add-in as that is likely where it would be found. I have found that some of these add-ins can be a devil to get rid of completely.
