    Protect Cells

Instead of protecting a whole sheet I want users to be able to make inputs in certain cells and not be able to touch the formulas in other cells. How do I protect those formulas in those cells?

    Thank you very much!

    Re: Protect Cells

To do this, follow these steps...

    1) Press Ctrl+A to select the whole sheet.

    2) Now right click on any of the selected cell --> Choose Format Cells --> Protection Tab --> Check the box for Locked and UnCheck it then to make sure it is not checked at all. --> OK

    3) Now select the Cells on the sheet which you want to protect (hold the Ctrl Key if selecting non consecutive cells) --> Right click on any of the selected cells --> Choose Format Cells --> Protection Tab --> Check the box for Locked --> OK.

    4) Finally click on Review Tab --> Protect Sheet --> Supply a password --> Reconfirm the password --> OK.

So now your sheet is protected but user will be edit the cells which are not locked and won't be able to edit the cells which you locked during the step 3.

    Hope this helps.
