after a formula, I added &"(some text)" to simply place some text after a number that usually yields some long decimal number unless I format it to no decimal point, and now excel just beeps, no message explaining any error or anything. Is this normal? what does it mean, and lastly how can I, if possible, get a nice short numerical result with some post text?

thanks, but unfortunately it says too many arguements. Not sure exactly what that means. All I know is that I simply surrounded my current formula with text() before the & part. That's right no? my current formula is an "if" statement with good bit in it.
Try changing the ; to , (regional setting for popipipo)
