Im not sure if this is at all possible but Im looking for a way to dynamically link a xlsm to a xlsx. It needs to be able to have both files open (the xlsm by one and the xlsx by a different user) and once information is entered into the xlsm file it updates the xlsx file….

Linking across files is pretty much the same as linking across sheets and the main difference between .xlsx and ,xlsm is that .xlsm allows macros, while .xlsx does not
Try linking them the same way as you would across sheets and let me know how you make out?

On Same pc works fine but a crossed network not working
Im going to guess over lan network is not possible for live dynamic updates from one workbook to another (with both workbooks open t the same time.) If this is possible please let me know going to leave this thread opened for another week in hopes that it is possible.

have a feeling that this doesnt work that way, but I will push this to the other experts for you
It will surely work if both of you have access to those shared network files.

I will test this myself, tonight at work. I dont think it will work if teh files are in your "home" folder, but maybe in a shared folder
