Adding data labels/Gridlines to chart

Hi

I have a bubble chart and I would like to make some improvements:

• I would like to add the number within the bubble (column B)
• I would like to add a grid and the words (high/medium/low) to the graph as shown on the example tab.

Does anyone know how to do either?

Hi,

If the number of data points is fixed, you can simply add data labels and link each one to a cell directly with a formula. If it is not, I think you would require some VBA to update them.

The grid can probably be done with gridlines and then you might simply add some textboxes for the labels.

Add data labels to the series and position them in the centre. Single click one label again to select just that label, and then click in the formula bar , type an = sign and then select the cell you want. Repeat this for the other labels.

Hi - I can not get it to work

I notice I don't have the series name e.g. if I select the graph, select data, select series 1 then the series name is blank - is there any way to use this?

Which part are you stuck with?

Unless you plot each bubble as a separate series, you can't use the series name.

Hi,

I have managed to do it - I would select the cell and then hitting return did nothing. You have to select with the mouse off the graph and the do the next one.
