Is there a way of using the Filter Function when Rows are grouped

Hi Excel Forum,

I have a table with a main row with 5 rows grouped underneath. and this continues down the page for each student. I was wondering if it is possible to have a way in which you can use the filter option even though there are grouped rows. It seems to work when i collapse the rows but as soon as i filter and then go to filter again it shows up the grouped rows.

I have attached a sample book which i hope helps show what i am trying to do.

I see what you have done here and has given me an idea! But the column that you have put the data in would normally have a candidate number in there so i could just change the columns that these two headers are in. I just thought there could be a way where i did not have to change this.
