Text Filter

A colleague of mine is using Excel 2013. He has a file (text file) that contains occurrences of a certain letter combination, e.g. "DBG". He is able to use the Data Filter menu to extract only those lines that contain "DBG". When using the Data Filter menu there is a Text Filter field where he enters "DBG".

I'm using Excel 2003. I can't seem to do the equivalent as stated above from the Data Filter menu. There doesn't seem a place where text, like "DBG" can be entered.

Apply data filters to your range, then select the drop down at the top of the column, and select (Custom...)

Then you have options > Equals, contains, does not contain, etc.

OK, thanks, but I can't seem to get it to work. Below is a portion of the text from which I just want to eliminate all entries EXCEPT those that contain "DBG". Please note that the Time and Date are is Column A, PM is in Column B and the remainder of each row is in Column C.

Basically, for the text below I want to end up with the following:

Select column C and apply data filters. Click the drop down, Choose (Custom...) and select "Does not contain" and in the box to the right, type DBG and click OK. Then select all the visible cells below your header (if you have one), right-click, choose "Delete" and "Entire Row" and click OK. Then remove the filter and you should only have the DBG lines.
