Unable to Enter Text Into Excel 2013 Cells

Has the color of the text somehow been changed to "white" ?

Is the sheet protected in some manner ?

It's really strange. When I go into Format/Font, the color is white. I change it to black. I return to the SS and I can enter text, in one cell, one time - but when I go to another cell, the font color pops back to white.

I doubt the sheet is protected or you wouldn't be able to enter text the first time. However, go to the REVIEW tab and look for the PROTECT menu selections. I guess its the same in 2013 as it is in 2007, which I'm using.

Something about your friend's computer changed the workbook.

This doesn't help but I run into problems on my machine that others can't reproduce. What works for them sometimes doesn't work for me.

I can get into Options, OK, but where do I go once I am in there? I don't see anything about "Body Font." I am running Excel 2013.

I agree that my friend's computer changed the SS somehow. We'll get to the bottom of this. I re-sent the SS to him, asking him to focus on the font color issue.

Holy cow. The guy who was helping me with the SS lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I live in the Los Angeles area. I emailed him the SS and suggested it was maybe a font color issue. He called me and we spent 20 minutes or so on the phone. It is not a color issue. The SS he prepared for me is conditionally formatted. Until a dollar amount is entered in one column (Column B), no entries will be visible. Once you enter a dollar amount in Col. B and exit from that cell, all of the data appears, with a corrected amount in the affected Column with all other columns remaining the same. Way out of my league but at least know I now how to use the SS.
