Fill data in Column based on comparing cells from different sheets

Hi there.

I have a list of employees that either work AM or PM shift.
On one sheet I have a running list of their names and AM or PM on a second column.

On a different sheet, I regularly paste running reports that only have the names but no AM/PM specifics.
I would like to be able to be able to automatically add the AM/PM onto a column of the newly pasted sheet based on the "legend" I have on the other initial sheet.

Any thoughts how I can do that?

teomi, that's rather vague ... "based on the legend". What does this mean?

Try uploading and Excel workbook that illustrates what you are describing. It's much easier and clearer to show us what you mean than to describe it.

Be sure to remove all sensitive data.

Also it is often helpful if you include a BEFORE section (what you are starting with) and an AFTER section (what you are wanting to accomplish).
