Pivot sorting problem when table has two columns

    Hello all,

    I have the following problem:

When my pivot table consists of customer name and turnover - I have no problem sorting in decending order.
    But

if I add customer code (PIVOT tabular view) before customer name- see attached picture - I can not sort at all...
I couldnt figure it out also when I was searching in the more sorting option

any idea how to sort it?

This is purely a guess on my part. If the Customer Codes are calculated values in the source data for the pivot table and are calculated to produce values in a given order, you may not be able to sort into a different order than the source data.

A sample workbook that demonstrates the problem you are facing would certainly help in identifying what the exact problem is.

I'd guess the same for the cause. I usually load table to PowerQuery and then load to data model and base pivottable on it to avoid the issue.

Ah, this is because each sub item "Customer Short Name" correspond to single parent "Customer Code".

Parent Row Label's sort will take precedence over that of child's. If you move "Customer Short Name" to parent position. You can sort on it.
