In the last month, when I hit various different buttons during an excel session such as print preview, language selector, print, selection of pages - the screen either goes black or parts of the screen go blank or repeats sections. It clears if I click another button or change page but why is it doing it in the first place?
This could be a hardware problem with the graphics card being a suspect for failure. Other hardware like memory chips or hard drive could be at fault. Is the cooling fan operating and the ducts are clean so the the computer doesn't overheat?
The problem could also be software related. Outdated graphics drivers could be a problem. Is the computer's operating system up to date? Have you cleaned up temporary files lately?
The above could cause a black screen but the split screen is another matter in my own experience. I have only had split screen problems when a wireless mouse went bad. Any click in the header of the window resulted in the window scooting across to the right resulting in a split screen.
Do your best to clean up your computer by maybe using a cleanup tool like CCleaner from Piriform. Use the default settings and only used the Cleaner uitlity staying away from the registry.
Unplug the computer and open it and blow out any dust with compressed air. Don't use a vacuum cleaner even with the small attachments available unless you know what you are doing as you could damage something, disconnect something or even cause a static discharge that could damage the sensitive parts.
I also suggest that you modify your title by removing "Help my" from the title. Some will just ignore titles that start with HELP. Help is why we are here so it shouldn't be in the title.
