    Data Entry on Android

    Hello,

Is there a way to make a user interface to be used on an Android phone for excel workbook sheet?

I am interested in recording expenses when away from the pc.

    Thank you,
    Joe

Personally, I'd leverage Google form and sheets.

Set up web form to collect info, update Google sheet. Then use connection in your workbook to pull in number entered.

Exact set up will depend on your workbook and how tables are constructed.

Thank you for replying. I have an 'Entries' worksheet in my budget workbook. The other sheets get the data from this sheet. So essentially all that is needed is a way to populate this sheet with new data.

In that case I'd alter set up a bit.

Create another sheet in your workbook to bring in info from Google sheet (through web query or other means). Then merge that table with your 'Entries' worksheet in another worksheet (use PowerQuery if avaialable, if not via formula or VBA).

Then use the resulting table for all subsequent sheets.

This will probably be the easiest method. Other wise, you'll need to have server where you can host web service to push info to Excel etc.

    Re: Data Entry on Android

It sounds very complicated to do. I did already make an 'Entries' Workbook with similar format as the 'Entries' sheet in the main workbook. I have a macro set up to get the data from the 'Entries' workbook but this has to be done manually and I was hoping for an automated way.

All devices in sync in other words. I discovered using OneDrive I can sign in anywhere to the same workbook and make changes on the fly. What I really just need is an interface form like the apps for logging expenses for android that can update the main workbook.

    It's not that complicated really.

Intermixing data entry from multiple sources in single table is more complicated.

To have web form, since you have OneDrive. Try using Excel Suvery function within it.
