Autofill cell from a list

I'd like to be able to type in a cell and have it autofill from a list range, but also I would like it to accept a value that isn't in the list range in case the user doesn't wish to use the suggested auto fill. I don't want to use any form or activex controls as it'll be across a lot of cells depending how many the user chooses to use.

You could use Data Validation.

See attached and refer to cell E4, here I have added in a dropdown field and you can manually overwrite this if needed.

Thank you, I forgot you could remove the error message from the data validation to allow other entries
