Excel plotting multiple series at different starting points on the X axis

    Hi all,

I have been trying to create a line or scatter graph where multiple data series are placed at different starting points along the 'X' axis. However, I am completely stumped.
Hopefully, I can explain my problem through the following screenshot.

    screenshot.png

The top picture shows how it looks with each data series starting at '0' on the X axis, but I've been trying to arrange each data series to have a different starting point (e.g. series 1 starts at 0, series 2 starts at 50, series 3 starts at 100, etc). This would then form a single line as shown in the bottom picture (but in different series colours).

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

You have attached an image. That's not very easy to work with. We have to re-type your information before we can begin to address your problem. That will put a lot of people off completely. Not only that, but (depending on their choice of browser) many members cannot even see the image.

Will you please attach an Excel workbook?

    1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Thank you for the offer to help.

I have actually figured it out. It was simply down to me failing to correctly plot the x axis values for each data series.
