    Percentage (Savings Formula)

    Hi Excel Community!

I need help with expressing the following:

I have an IVR that is currently costing us approximately $0.07 per call serviced vs. $1.60 for live operator. Currently, 91% of all of our calls are serviced/contained in the IVR and 9% opt out to a live operator. The amount of contacts serviced in the IVR annually are 22 million while 2 million are serviced by live operators. Can you help me with expressing in excel how much money we would save by percentage point gained in the IVR vs. Live Operator?

Please reach out if you need any data points.

    Re: Percentage (Savings Formula)

If the question is what's the % saved by doing all 2 million live operator calls in house then the answer is 64.6%

    i.e.

    Total cost at the moment

    = $4,740,000

    All IVR
    =24,000,000 X $0.07 = $1,680,000

$1,680,000 is 35.4% of $4,740,000 hence the saving is 64.6%

    Hi Richard -

See attached. I was referring to doing it in this model but the quantity seems a little too rich. Attaching.

    Re: Percentage (Savings Formula)

You save 220,000 * (1.6 - .07) = 336,600 for every 1% of calls you move from live to IVR.
