Excel chart move axis label but not columns

Hi

I think best is to explain with an image. I have a chart in which data is displayed between certain time slots.
It would be better to read the chart if I could move the axis labels without moving the columns.
I just cannot figure this out. Any help would be much appreciated.

One thing is certain. A picture of a sheet and/or a pdf of a sheet is pretty much useless.



Will you please attach a SMALL sample Excel workbook (10-20 rows of data is usually enough)? Please don't attach a picture of one (no-one will want to re-type all your stuff before starting).

1. Make sure that your sample data are truly REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

3. Make sure that all confidential information is removed first!!

4. Try to avoid using merged cells. They cause lots of problems!

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

You can do it with a dummy series or you might just stagger your data a little as in the attached- so you basically plot twice as many data points with half blank, and label the blanks rather than the actual data.

Using "on Tick marks" also moves the columns on the tick marks. I want the columns between the tick marks and the labels on the tick marks.
Am am using pivot charts so data manipulation with blanks is also not practical with huge amount of data.

In that case, I think that short of simply padding the number format with some spaces at the end to shift the text left a bit, you may be out of luck.
