Hey Guys,
I have 30,000+ characters in a text file...when I put it in Excel it all goes in to A1, but the consistency here is that there should be a line break at "11000". So every time it sees an "11000" that record should be on a new row. I thought of writing a Macro for it, but is there an easy way to move data from 1 cell to a new row everytime "11000" is seen?
So you may have 11000 ajsbfkjbsdf 12.23.17 11000 ofinjioanegn 12.11.17 11000 oisenfoiesn 12.10.17
I would like it to look like this:
11000 ajsbfkjbsdf 12.23.17
11000 ofinjioanegn 12.11.17
11000 oisenfoiesn 12.10.17
I thought of doing a find and replace, put a comma in front of "11000", then doing a Text to Columns on the comma and removing the comma afterwards....but there are too many characters in 1 cell to do a find and replace.
EDIT: Actually...I just added the comma in the text file (since it can handle however many replaces you need) and then did Text to Columns in Excel and now it works.
