I'm working with data that is pulled from an external database every day, but when it's pulled the order of its column headings are variable. I need to manipulate this data to display only a handful of approximately 200 columns in the same order every day. Any ideas how I can do this? I've included two datasets to help explain what I'm talking about.
I need to reorganize data into a new column order. Each sample dataset represents a different day's worth of data ingested from the external database (as such the order of the columns is different). That data is represented in the first tab in each example, "CUT_AND_PASTE_DATA". The second tab in each example represents the data from the first tab reorganized.
So, the question is, is there a way to have my second tab give a consistent column-order return regardless of the column-order in the cut and past data?
I tried combining SEARCH with nested IF formulas, but even if that were to work I can't nest more than 64 functions, which isn't sufficient with over 200 columns.
Please let me know if this is unclear.
Thanks!
