"Date" is considered as "Month" while filtering data

Hi All,
I have downloaded excel from SAP, an the date format is in "dd/mm/yyyy", but if i apply filter & click the drop down date is considered as month.
e.g 1/11/2017 is considered as January and 2/11/2017 is considered as Feb, whereas it should be showing as November. Kindly help.

The date on the server from where data is extracted is in mm/dd/yyyy format. what may be the issue here?
