Hi, I am trying to use the countif function on a large set of data for a binary classification model.
Basically I want countif to search for the value "1" within a range, say a1:a2 on one row, and then on the next row expand the search to a1:a3, then a1:a4 and so on until a1:a200.
For clarity here is an example

etc etc etc to a1:a200
Is there a simple way to do this?
Hi Justinian, welcome to the forum. Try this in B1, copied down:The dollar sign $ makes the first row reference absolute (fixed). The second is relative, so it changes as the formula is copied down. The result is an expanding range.
