Can Excel help with Squash Tournament draws?

Hi there, Just looking for some advice on potential solutions for the below situation. I have had a look on the internet but most of the explanations didn't seem to fit exactly with what I am hoping to do.

At our squash club we run tournaments throughout the year, which we do in excel, but from the starting draw we manually fill-in the next games for the players that win or lose, which indicates their next opponent and time they will be playing. I will explain what I envision should happen and possibly get some comment on whether it is plausible.

I would like to be able to add text to a name that (maybe "win" or "loss"), which would automatically populate that name to the next game. This is not a round robin, its a knock out although the losers also go into another round. I am assuming the setting up of a document like this could take some time, but wondering if its possible and what limitations are there are. I have added in two photo to illustrate what the draw looks like, both the starting main draw, and the losers draw. At the moment, we manually write the names in their next game, but the worst part is that name is transferred to another sheet of paying order on that day. Very time consuming.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Regards

Cool Re: Can Excel help with Squash Tournament draws?

    Maybe something like this....

you'll need to repeat steps with formula and correct appropriate ranges
    Fill blue area only
I start with some but the rest is up to you

Re: Can Excel help with Squash Tournament draws?

    Hi there,

Thanks so much for the documents, appreciate it. I can now see that it should not be that hard to create the document, I probably need sit down and get a better understanding of the formula's needed for it and nut something out. I might update my 2008 version of MS office and start there.
    Regards
    Aaron
