Football Tournament Teams - Fixtures Results and FInal Tables

Morning all, new to this Forum...and what a great one it looks to be.

I and my fellow Trustees are holding a Football Tournament for Disabled Football Teams, I know a little about Excel but not enough to generate what I need.


I will have potentially six - eight different divisions (varying disabilities) with 5-6 teams in each league....maybe more once the attendees are finally in.

I would like to generate league tables that automatically updates themselves with goals for, against, points for draws / wins etc.

So all I need to do is write down the teams in each leagues, and the finals scores of each game.


Been looking on line, and have found a few. But all seem to have some issue with the VLookup calculations, where it never quite works out correctly.

Post a WORKBOOK. Nobody wants to type data from a picture or paste text from your post into a spreadsheet as a prelude to helping. To attach a file, click Go Advanced below the text edit window, scroll down and click the Manage Attachments link, browse to the required file, and then push the Upload button, then Close Window to return to your post. (The "paper clip" icon for attachments is not currently working.)

Not sure where the problems are (as you did not highlight any).

In "Calculations" there is no point in checking B:B >=0 (not least as you cannot have a negative score!)

in H3 (as example) this will do

=IF(Teams!A2="","",SUMIFS(Fixtures!$B:$B,Fixtures!$A:$A,Calculations!$C3))

If you look at the one i've just attached, BDFC have won 7 games and scored 35 goals. The league table shows goals for as 30 & matches won 6, but the goal difference is correct at 35 and the points tallys to winning 7 matches.

Your league table only shows Home results (as per title!) so if the table is ALL (H/A) games then you need to SUM the H & A games (for all data)

Ah, right...I get it.

I deleted the Away ties as they only play each other once, but forgot they still need that input...
