Auto populating date/time

Hi all, I am have created a appointment schedule in excel for a fleet of trucks. However, I need to figure out how to make excel recognize when a truck number is entered in the schedule and populate the current date entered into another sheet which lists the truck numbers.

For example, I enter truck 357356 into ANY cell inside the schedule and on the sheet labeled "Reefer" (refrigerated) it returns todays date automatically.

I have tried IF statements and it will work if the number is entered into one cell but I cannot not link all cells to that IF statement.

You need to think about a few issues first.

You have a worksheet set up for the next two weeks. What happens the next week? New workbook, additional worksheet?

I can't think how this is going to work unless you build a register of trucks and the days (times) they were washed. You can't get this from the schedule.

I assume you enter the truck number in the Truck # columns in the schedule, and something else in the previous adjacent cell.

I suspect you need a macro to then build the register I mentioned, say once you have completed the Schedule

There's a lot of advanced excel going on in the model, with named ranges etc. - not really sure sure how they are used yet.

What are your thoughts?
