Hyperlink to another sheet and going to a specific cell in that sheet.

I'd like to click on a hyperlink in Excel file A in order to open Excel file B, and go directly to sheet 1, cell A5. I've made the hyperlink, but I get an ''Unable to open specified file'' error.

Please note that before creating the hyperlink, I simply created a cell reference which worked fine (I can see the contents of file B, sheet 1, cell A5 in file A). In creating the hyperlink, I used the exact address and it shows the content fine, but I want it to directly go to the cell as well when I click on the text.

Is there something I'm missing?

Can you post an example of how you are trying to do it?

This is my guess however: On some computers excel defaults to the incorrect hyperlink path. For example on my work computer if I were to right click a cell then click "hyperlink" the dialog box would pop with a default folder being "Current folder" and the file I want to hyperlink is "File B." The address bar at the bottom says "Address: File B" however it should be "C:/..." If you click on the drop down next to the address bar you should be able to make sure you have the right file path. After that click bookmark on the right side, pick the sheet and the cell, then click okay.

If i'm wrong and you post an example I should be able to help better.
