I have set up workbooks for two of my colleagues which contain a link to a complaints database. (Done by clicking connections, browse and adding in the file path for the complaints database. I have then used Existing Connections to add in the data in a table format) For some reason when I click on the refresh button to update the data it is opening the original complaints database as well.
This doesn't happen on my computer only my colleagues- We are all using Excel 2016.
Connection string:
Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;User ID=Admin;Data Source=K:\Technical\Complaints Database\Complaints Data Output.xlsm;Mode=Share Deny Write;Extended Properties="HDR=YES;";Jet OLEDB:System database="";Jet OLEDB:Registry Path="";Jet OLEDB:Engine Type=37;Jet OLEDB:Database Locking Mode=0;Jet OLEDB:Global Partial Bulk Ops=2;Jet OLEDB:Global Bulk Transactions=1;Jet OLEDB:New Database Password="";Jet OLEDB:Create System Database=False;Jet OLEDB:Encrypt Database=False;Jet OLEDB:Don't Copy Locale on Compact=False;Jet OLEDB:Compact Without Replica Repair=False;Jet OLEDB:SFP=False;Jet OLEDB:Support Complex Data=False;Jet OLEDB:Bypass UserInfo Validation=False;Jet OLEDB:Limited DB Caching=False;Jet OLEDB:Bypass ChoiceField Validation=False
How do I get the workbook to update the data without opening the original complaints database?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
