Sorting my data by year?

Hi

In the attached sample, how can I efficiently go from the input (in black text), to the output (in coloured text)

I don't care about the result actually being in coloured text, I just used the colours to distinguish from input and output.

Obviously I can just copy paste like I did to make the sample, but I have very large data sets that I need to do this with.

i dont know if this will solve your problem or i didnt understand your question well
if you need to paste your data Horizontaly wise
copy your input and select the desire cell and right click select paste special and transpose

1. How many columns would this result in? i.e. how many unique years will there be?
2. How varied are the large data sets in this regard?
3. If those allow for practical application of formulas are you open to helper rows/columns/lookup tables?
