    Best way to input data

    Hi People
    as you can see from the attached I am trying unsuccessfully to capture all of the empirical date for a fleet of loories that takes into account fixed costs and variable on a weekly basis. I have 25 assets that I would like to run reports on to show final profitability. Can anyone help me set the spreadsheet up. I have different worksheets that all need to feed back into a summary page. I don't know the best way to do this.
    I have to collect;
    income from each asset on a weekly basis
    expenditure costs;Fixed on a separate worksheet and ;
    cost for fuel per asset from potentially four sources
    Tyre cost per asset from potentially four sources
    Repair costs per asset from potentially upto six sources
    Parts cost per assets from potentially upto 5 sources
    each year it takes me ages to formulate the master shett and i cannot get any pivot tables from them, can anyone help?

    No attachment - try again.

    Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

    Well, you have managed to attach it, so clearly it DOES work! Honestly, I would not be recommending it to you if it didn't.

    I will have a look.

    I am none the wiser, having seen this.

    What do you want to see? Where do you want to see it? Can we see some manually calculated results???

    OK - what is missing in your workbook is a manually mocked up summary page showing us what you are trying to achieve. Please add this and post again. Thanks!

    Re: Best way to input data

    Hi Ali
    Basically I would like to see a summary something like this
    WC Date xxxx
    Reg xxxxx
    Profit xxxx
    Tyre Cost xxxx
    Fuel Cost xxxx
    Maintenance Cost xxxx
    Driver Cost XXXX

    Then I would like to display that visually so I can visually see the top performing asset.
    I don't know whether to put the date along the top as a column or down the side as a row. I run the whole sheet from November so there is an awful lot of additions to do from one sheet to another and so it seems to not work for me. Thanks for your help.

    I don't think you understood my request.

    Please mock up an example of what you want to see inside the workbook (including some manually calculated results), and then post the workbook again, please. Thanks!

    Morning Ali
    This is some of previous years data. It is very difficult to interrogate it. you can see by clicking on the cell where there is a total the complicated way I do it. It takes a long time and was wanting a simpler way. As I don't know excel too well this is how I have muddled through . Appreciate any tips you can give. I input into the various worksheets the information from the drivers and invoices.

    Re: Best way to input data

    Hi

    The attached file contains a proposal to organize the Fleet data sheet.

    The table for data entry was intended for use with PivotTables.

    There is also a small example for a possible PivotTable

    Note: The data used in the new organization is only about two weeks.
