Select the Excel table in the Word document and click on the Delete button on your keyboard.
OR
Right-click the Excel table and select Cut from the menu.

Let me show you what I mean about common courtesy:
It is copied as a picture. Can you see the difference?Thank you for your help, but in my file it is copied as a picture. How can I change this? Have I done something incorrectly?
You must have pasted it as an image if that's what it is. If you had inserted it as a spreadsheet, it would not be an image. How about attaching a sample file?
Thanks but tell am i doing it right - right click on spreadsheet in word then open a new excel file then Ctrl+V.
Why don't you attach the file here? I will have a look and see if it really is an image. If it is, then you are doing something very wrong.
Here it is
It is an Excel table - I can double-click on it and edit the table. Excel is not open on this machine.
What do you mean?Excel is not open on this machine
I mean that I do not have Excel open, but I am able to click on the table in Word and edit it.
Anyway, this is just a duplicate of your other thread, so I am now closing it. If you wish to pursue this issue, do so in one thread only. Thanks.
