Hiding column headings but NOT row headings

Is it possible to hide column headings without hiding the row headings as well?

you could color code the font the same as the cell background color so it wouldn't be visible unless someone clicked on the cell.

Ohhh, I thought he meant it would be like a column title/header in say cell B1. If it is as you note, duh.

You might be able to select your header cells and format them as Custom, and choose ;;; in the dialog box. They would still be visible in the formula bar unless you locked them and protected the sheet and workbook

    Krus54: you can try this:

Make the 1st column your row numbers, . . .lock them in place, format them to look like row headers; likely Gray background with a black font, Set your column width before unchecking the headers.

Now: uncheck "Show Row and Column Headers". (Options, Advanced, Display Options.)
.. about all I can think of right now, (we're out of coffee).
