break large text files into multiple excel files

I have to deal with a large txt file database files consisting of around 1,00,00,000 rows and 10 columns. The txt file size is around 1gb. As excel accommodates only around 10,00,000 rows so whole database cannot be accommodated in one excel sheet. further the file cannot be imported to multiple sheet of one excel file as operating on such huge database in one file makes the system slow and sometimes the system gets crashed. I am trying to find a way to break the text file into multiple excel file with each file will containing 500000 rows so that 20 files can be created and necessary mathematical operation can be performed on data in each file and final result can be derived by processing the summary file created of each excel file. While importing the data there should be some provision for separating the fields on basis of deliminator. If you know any tool pls let me know your help will be much appreciated.
