Hello everyone,
I am confused and surfing the web does not provide me with an answer.
I have just purchased a new PC and have the "Office Home and Student" 2019 installed. I have opted for the 64-bit version as I need to handle large, intricate Excel files. The description under "Account" in Excel does confirm that the 64-bit version of Excel is installed.
I then opened an existing (old) file that had been produced on the old computer with the 32-bit Excel (Version 2013).
Problem: When using the file and entering new data I find everything is working rather slowly (oftentimes I have to wait 30 seconds until simple calculations are performed). What really confused me was that after some time I got an alert saying that Excel couldn't handle the calculations with the existing resources and I should consider using the 64-bit version of Excel......
I thought I was using that verison all along and that you cannot use two versions of Excel alongside each other on the same computer anyhow. What could be going on here? Do I Need to convert the old existig Excel files before
opening them?
Many thanks for any light you may be able to shed on this!
Best regards,
Excel_Arate
