    conversion chart

    Hi,

Got a question re vlookup. I think this is the way I need to go to solve my problem.

I wish to have 2 lists say from 2 different manufactures of the same product but they have different codes for that product. Can I have a box that I enter the product code from manufacture 1 and have it show what the corresponding code is from manufacture 2 is? e.g. I type in PH45 into one box and it will return in another box R3367
I think that vlookup would be the way to go but not sure. I need only the 2 boxes to show on the page and the data hidden.
Any ideas if this would work or is there a simpler way to do it?

    thanks,

It does sound like Vlookup would work. However without a sample workbook it's difficult to tell. Let's see what your data looks like.

Attach a sample workbook (not a picture or pasted copy). Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

    Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
