So I'm trying to follow these basic instructions and am lost within the first steps. When I select the "insert" tab, I cannot find ANYTHING called "static chart". Yes, there are images that look similar to the ones shown, but they are not titled anything close to "static". There are 72 chart forms to choose from (yes - I COUNTED). I've checked every single individual one. I'm sure one is the one I'm looking for, but none are called "static". This is extremely basic stuff, yet I can't figure it out. Please help. Your profile says that you are using Excel 2010. The instructions at trumpexcel that involve finding the "static chart" are for Excel 2016 only. The tutorial explains that, if you are using any Excel version earlier than 2016 (including 2010) that you should either use the Data analysis toolpak addin or use the FREQUENCY() (or other counting function) to summarize the data and build the chart as a column chart. Be sure you are using instructions appropriate to your version of Excel.

Wow, thanks. Pretty sure that explains it. I never "set" my version, I think it just auto detected when I joined the site and I'd have never guessed it was the older one.
