In a Data Validation List, Can You Include a Named Range Along With Individual Values?

Hi everyone.

I am trying to create a data validation drop-down list. I need to reference a named range, however, I also want to be able to add values that are not included in the named range to the list. I realize that is inefficient, however, this is a client deliverable and my boss will not allow the additional values to be a part of the named range. Any suggestions?

Go to Data Validation - > Error Alert -> Style and modify "Style" options from Stop to either Warning / Information. These options will allow to retain the entry which is not in the range but will warn / inform you about a value not being present in the defined range.

excel_googler, I appreciate the response, however, this is not exactly what I meant by my question. I want the value to be a part of the drop-down. I do not want the individual to be able to choose outside of the options available on the drop-down. These are non-Excel savvy users and they would end up choosing a value that could truly alter the end analysis. How would I add, let's say a blank value as an option, in addition to the named range (i.e. Data Validation --> List --> Source --> =Named Range, " ")
