Extract Simple Data to A New Column

    sample.JPG

    Hello Guys,

Anyone here who has an idea on how I can extract the data from Column F to column J or K if the data has "TRUE" under column G?

Like what I want to happen is if the data has a corresponding TRUE (Column G), it will list the names under columns J or K automatically.

I appreciate all the help I can get.

    Sincerely,
    Rod E

If data starts in row 3 then put this formula in cell in J3 or K3
    =if($G3="TRUE",$F3,"")

hello dosydos! thank you for the input. i'm not sure if i am doing it right but nothing is happening.

what i really want to happen is extract all the names in column F to colum J or K if the data has true in column G. also, i don't know if it's possible but i want to list all the data without any spaces or blank cells in between.

This can be done easily with PowerQuery.

    1. Select your data in F and G, then click From Table on the Data ribbon.
    2. In the PowerQuery editing window, select the TRUE/FALSE column and filter out FALSE.
    3. Delete the TRUE/FALSE column.
    4. Close and load to your required location.

If you update the source data, click on Refresh All on the Data ribbon to update the output table.

    Hello AliGW!

Thank you so much for your reply. Unfortunately, I am not so familiar with power query (although I am reading about it now). I was meaning to look for maybe a very basic formula lol.

I am, I would say, a novice with Excel.

Thank you though for your patience.

    Sincerely,
    Rod E.

There is no BASIC formula for this, although there are formulae that would do the job.

Have a look at this thread: https://www.excelforum.com/excel-for...t-working.html

    Hello Rod,

Remove the quotation marks from "TRUE" in the formula that Dosydos supplied then drag the formula down as far as you need. It should then work for you.

I don't think that does do what the OP wants - I doubt they want a mirrored list with blanks in it. What I imagine they mean is what is effectively a filtered list: just those items that have TRUE next to them.
