Conditional Format a Shape/Text Box

I have a textbox that is just pulling the number from cell/table that is used in chart. The text box is just a formula to that cell and pulls in a number, ie. 75

Can I have that textbox conditionally format the number based on the value from the cell? ie, make the color font red when under 50, green over 80, etc? I know i can conditionally format a cell to do this. But can you conditionally format the cell.

VBA could probably do this, but I am trying to find a non-vba approach if possible.

You could use a linked picture, which would reflect the range
If you have a chart and the information is just a number you might be able to use a dummy series' data label and a conditional Number format
