    Conditional Formatting using dates

I have a evaluation tracker, I want to show red, amber, green for when they are getting close to being due. However, If I put a date in the field I want the field to go back to clear. The first columns B,C,D are due by 31 Oct, Columns E, F are due 31 Dec, and so on. Columns E through L are quarterly requirements. Thanks

If today is <30 days from October 31 2019 then the field is red. If today is >30 but <60 days from October 31 2019 then the field is Yellow. If today is >60 days from October 31 2019 then the field is Green. Is this possible without values in the fields?

    What do you mean with
If I put a date in the field I want the field to go back to clear
If you build the different conditional format rules you leave the worksheet as it is and only those fields where the condition for that format is true will be colored.
Conditional Formatting is not VBA it's just rules that doe what YOU tell it to do under that and that condition

I want the blank field to be a color based on the current date Today and the date it is due. 10/24/2019 (today) date due 10/24/2019 red because it is less than a month out from the due date. However if the date it was turned in is in the field the field is "clear" because the requirement has been met. The updated example is laid out how I want it to appear.

Try this, is this the idea? Fill a date in any of the colored cells

    Re: Conditional Formatting using dates

That takes care of the change of color for filling. Thank you very much. Now how do I conditionally format the rest of the cells based on a due date from today? 30 days red, 60 days yellow, 90 days or more green with no values within the cells. If a report is due on the 31st of October and it has no date of completion in the cell. The cell should be blank but filled in red indicating it is due within 30 days.

If today is <30 days from October 31 2019 then the field is red. If today is >30 but <60 days from October 31 2019 then the field is Yellow. If today is >60 days from October 31 2019 then the field is Green. Is this possible without values in the fields?
