Excel Avg Calc and Average on Status Bar do not match??

This may be a dumb question but I'm stumped.

I have hours that calculate efficiencies, but I have users that are asking why the calculation does not match the status bar average at the bottom of the screen.

see attached for example. The calc is showing 94.35%, but when I highlighted cells C2-C7,the %'s on the Eff% column, its showing 92.51% in the Status bar at the bottom????

You'll see why if you paste this into any empty cell:

=AVERAGE(C2:C7)

OK. I did that and got the same 92.51. Why would there be a difference between adding up the totals and averaging them, compared to using the average formula?

It's because you're comparing a weighted average to an unweighted average.
Your c8 entry is the sum of these

The totals don't take weightings into account. The correct way to do it is the way I've done it in that formula.
