How to group a date field into months in a pivot table

Hello. I have a pivot table with a column that has data values by day and time so if I try to put it on the column it won't do it as it's too many values.

I created a month column in the actual data set but is there a way of doing this in the pivot table vs. creating new fields in the data set?
