Hundreds of Row Hundreds of Tabs- there has to be a faster way!!

I have a massive project but no one on my team really has any in depth experience with excel. Due in a few days- So I hope I'm not breaking any rules rushing to ask a question.

I have hundreds of rows (373) on the index page. For each row there needs its own tab. For each tab I must formulate some cells and also link the information on the index. However I also have to enter a lot of more precise information that is not included. I have already created around 15 tabs.

    Questions:

Is there a way to copy the formulas I used in the first tab worksheet----but have it automatically changed to the inext row/columns sums/values of the index?
Is there a fast way to copy and create new tabs based on and auto name the sheet with Item Number and Description (Honestly the least of my problems- just wondering)?
This all can't be magical but--Is there a fast way to auto-hyperlink the Item Number cell of each row to take you right its own tab.
Magic shoes that takes me to Bora, Bora wouldn't hurt either.

Please help- i may not have any hair after this.

Hi bee85 and welcome to the forum,

If you could supply a small sample of your workbook we might have a better way. Read how to attach a sample at the top of this page.

Without seeing your data, I'd keep it all on a single sheet and filter that one table which will duplicate the creation of the multiple sheets/tabs. I won't know for sure without a small sample of your workbook.
One test is worth a thousand opinions.

If you can give me a moment. This is highly sensitive/classified information: But I will make a sample if you without the info if you wouldn't mind to wait.

I'm old and staying home most of the day. Trying to answer questions is like the Sunday paper crossword puzzle for me. I'll check back, but better will be other people who might have another/better answer than mine.

    Hi bee85,

It looks like your first sheet is used to fill in other information and not like all your tab sheets. Here is my suggestion....

Load all you tab sheets (01,02,03...) into a SINGLE table on a new sheet. Don't have any blank rows on this sheet. Use the column headings from sheet 01 at the top (on row 1)
Now (only do this for the first 3 tabs) click anywhere in this new tab data and then on the Data Tab and the Filter Icon.
This will create an AUTO FILTER of your data. Now click on the dropdowns on the top row and show only data you need. All your past and new data should go in this ONLY table.
    https://www.timeatlas.com/excel-autofilter/

Earlier today I gave the same advice to someone who had a few hundred tabs. If they had a single table they would filter all the data and then copy and paste it to who they wanted. The copy and paste will leave out hidden rows. Excel works best in a TABLE of data, not in multiple tabs of data.
That's my suggestion. Read about Auto Filters at:

Most of the code needed for this exists in my List Workbook.

I will attach that for now.

Then I will add a macro to create the Sheets based on entries in the index.

Omg- Thanks!! I am going to work on this. What sucks is the customer is requesting something a certain way- and I'm like-- there's easier ways. I'm taking this to my supervisor and see if she will approve. Thank you so much for your time and input!!

    Ok

I have looked at your Data to see what data you want exported to the template

Column 1 => L1 and also Sheet Name
    Column 3 > A1
    Column 4 > H1
    Column 7> F1
    Column 8 > L4
    Column 9 > N4 and / Column4 > M4

There is a lot of data in the index that is not copied accross.

Is that how you want it?

I'm hiding my face here- do you mean not copied across to the tabs or??

In truth, not good with this- gave a brief sample because everything because I cannot make a copy of the classified material here.

    Its ok.

Just tell me where you want the dates names etc copied to so that I can create the transposition macro.

I hate to do these things more than once.

There are 15 columns on the Index but only 6 columns are copied across on your sample.

Ok- for the sample I only did a few as I don't have the time to create a real sample- but 15 is right.

    15 Columns for Index
    330+ Rows
330+ Tabs (column and row count is different)

To get us started I have added a Template to your original spreadsheet. It is Hidden at the moment.

This Macro will create your missing sheets when Run

Have a play. Then Let me have your feedback and I will work on this for you tomorrow.

Gosh- Thanks! Truly! Incredible. If I could give you a physical gold medal- it's yours.
Sent this to my supervisor for approval so I can begin completing it. This will take a few days because it is for another country. I will let you know as soon as I have word.
