Lightbulb Formatting Adjacent Values if They Are higher/Lower Than Previous Column

    Hi all,

As per the attached, i would like each columns values to highlight when the number is either above or below the previous. Below the previous being good (green) and above being bad (red). As more columns are added due to new data daily, i would like this to transfer across also.

    Thanks

With E2 selected, set up two rules:

    =E2>D2

    =E2<D2

Set your colour fill as required and make the Applies To ranges as big as necessary spanning all columns and rows needed.

Thanks for the quick response AliGW.

I think because i am using a pivot table in the live doc, the formulas you are using don't seem to work the way i want them too. I've attached a copy of the actual doc with the pivot table in use. Can you please see if you can add the same conditional formatting to this one?

    Thanks

Re: Formatting Adjacent Values if They Are higher/Lower Than Previous Column

Why didn't you say this was for a pivot table in the opening post?

I have just tried and it works fine - just change the rules to:

    =E5>D5

    and

    =E5<D5

Please try to apply this yourself, or you won't learn how to do it for the future.

I didn't think it would make a difference to the conditional formatting, my mistake.

As always, thanks for your help! And your words of wisdom
